What we are
MADDIE is a nonprofit corporation whose primary charitable purpose is to provide practical support for women and their preborn children in unintended pregnancy.
What we do
The corporation achieves its primary charitable purpose by (1) sponsoring our women in unintended pregnancy with financial grants to meet day-to-day pregnancy-related needs, (2) connecting women to free social services, and (3) advocating for our women in the social, legal, and familial spheres.
(1) Sponsoring
Qualifying women sponsored by the corporation receive financial assistance for housing and utilities, food, prenatal vitamins, clothing, transportation, child-care services, baby furniture, job and career services, and education. Sponsorship money is disbursed directly to the end user of the money on behalf of the mother. The sponsorship program, or anti-abortion fund, functions as the opposite of an abortion fund. We invest in individuals, and our return on investment is life.
(2) Connecting
The corporation serves as the nexus of all social services available to women experiencing unintended pregnancy. The corporation connects qualifying women to our partner nonprofits and government agencies that offer the following free services: health care for woman and child, including doctor visits, hospital visits, in-home nurse visits, lab work and tests, and medication; ultrasound and pregnancy testing; counseling and therapy; pregnancy, birthing, adoption, and parenting services; gynecological care and STD testing; and sexual awareness services.
(3) Advocating
The corporation addresses the non-financial aspects of unintended pregnancy and the underlying causes of abortion. The corporation advocates on behalf of pregnant women who face discrimination, violence, pressure to abort, and/or other pregnancy-related issues.
Where we are
MADDIE’s main office will be located in New Orleans, LA. Expansion plans include the opening of unintended-pregnancy resource centers throughout the United States and around the world.
